Why it’s the best!
Opened in 1931, Union Station was built by the Union Pacific Railroad as a local attraction in the city of their headquarters and has become a piece of Nebraska history ever since. They have a collection of over half-a-million items such as photos, coins, and there is even a pocket watch from the Titanic.
One of the favorites of the museum is the original Soda Fountain and candy shop. The candy shop has hard-to-find candies that were more popular in the past.
Most of the museum is dedicated towards learning about the past, but there is a portion that’s called the “Design Zone” that lets you be creative. The Durham Museum provides unique, hands-on learning for people of all ages. We encourage you to explore all that The Durham Museum has to offer!
Recommendation: Visit their “Design Zone” to test out gear combinations for a bike race, and then pedal your way to victory for three courses.
